8 more days.....update!

Let me say this again....8 more days and I am off!  I am trying to get things together to be away for a while and get things together to stay on the other end for a while...

Things up there are falling into place.  I have been emailing the woman about the apartment and it sounds wonderful and she and her husband seem so generous with all their offerings.  I will be 2 blocks from the Coastal Trail, a ten mile biking trail and she offered her bikes also.  Wow!  I seem to be able to ride a bike better then I can walk lately!  That might be what I do the first few evenings that I am there.  I have to get used to the time change as well as so many hours of light.  I think that wont take long!

I am also looking at an old car.  I decided to spend no more then $750 for a car and I am sticking to it.  I found this car.  There you go, me and my piece of shit cars that I drive.  I just have never been impressed by cars and neither has my pocketbook.  I plan on donating this car when I leave and I need it to tool around town:  to work, Y, grocery store and at least one trip to Humpy's.  Any where else I go, I just might have to rent a car for the day or weekend.  I am ok with this!

This week, I am on a hiring committee locally and will be busy with that, as I try to clean my house and pack.  Should be a fun filled week!  The closer it gets the more excited I get!

Hurry Up and Wait

Here I sit at the airport with not much to do but wait. Security at the airport tends to be somewhat silly. If you are drinking something you can not bring it down to the gate, so hurry up and drink it or throw it out. Then you have to get on a big long line, and wait so you can take things out of your backpack, purse or whatever else you are carrying on the plane. Oh, and you have to take your shoes off and hope that the people in front of you's feet don't smell too bad. Of course, I wore tie shoes which is a pain in the ass to put back on. So here I sit at the gate, waiting to board in a few hours. I am not sure why they say to get to the airport so early but here I am waiting. I fly into Minneapolis and have a four hour lay over. I was looking around to see if I could leave the airport for a few hours to see the city. I think by now, I have poo pooed that idea, knowing my sense of direction sucks. Nothing Ventured, nothing gained

Thursday May 27 4:35pm. As you will notice, I am in a totally different time zone. You guys are like back to the future for me. I am doing things when you haven't even gotten to the time and day yet. Today's venture: As you know I am pretty jet lagged. I am feeling it real bad right now. My back is killing me from who knows what, but I feel my back and my leg pain that I did NOT want in Japan. So I took a few IB profun and will go to sleep at 9pm and tomorrow, it will be better. (I hope). I waited and walked to work with Monica, she works at that craft store with bunches and bunches and bunches of fabric. I spent about an hour wandering around the store and bought nothing. I was window shopping! Because I have such a terrible sense of direction, Suzanne (The French Suzanne) told me to take pictures of how I got there.
