Day 2

This morning I went and got fingerprinted and a background check done.  Thankfully, most states require a background check when working with children.  After that, I went to the school to help me get acclimated.  I helped make materials for one teacher.  The first teacher that I will be subbing for helped me get familiar with her classroom and took me to get some lunch.  Then I made a few materials that I am going to put in the classroom.  I am going to do some sewing with the children again.  I always enjoyed sewing with them.  I am also going to put small picture painting out as well as keep the easel going.  Our theme is land, water and air so I am going to do some science experiments with them.
My college students always did the balloon across the room and I will try that one with the children.

Reading the local paper this morning and noticed this on the front page.  Read all about it!!!




Here is a picture outside the school.  The mountains are gorgeous!  I cant wait to get a car and explore!

Hurry Up and Wait

Here I sit at the airport with not much to do but wait. Security at the airport tends to be somewhat silly. If you are drinking something you can not bring it down to the gate, so hurry up and drink it or throw it out. Then you have to get on a big long line, and wait so you can take things out of your backpack, purse or whatever else you are carrying on the plane. Oh, and you have to take your shoes off and hope that the people in front of you's feet don't smell too bad. Of course, I wore tie shoes which is a pain in the ass to put back on. So here I sit at the gate, waiting to board in a few hours. I am not sure why they say to get to the airport so early but here I am waiting. I fly into Minneapolis and have a four hour lay over. I was looking around to see if I could leave the airport for a few hours to see the city. I think by now, I have poo pooed that idea, knowing my sense of direction sucks. Nothing Ventured, nothing gained

Thursday May 27 4:35pm. As you will notice, I am in a totally different time zone. You guys are like back to the future for me. I am doing things when you haven't even gotten to the time and day yet. Today's venture: As you know I am pretty jet lagged. I am feeling it real bad right now. My back is killing me from who knows what, but I feel my back and my leg pain that I did NOT want in Japan. So I took a few IB profun and will go to sleep at 9pm and tomorrow, it will be better. (I hope). I waited and walked to work with Monica, she works at that craft store with bunches and bunches and bunches of fabric. I spent about an hour wandering around the store and bought nothing. I was window shopping! Because I have such a terrible sense of direction, Suzanne (The French Suzanne) told me to take pictures of how I got there.
